According to an IGN article released earlier today, Showtime’s Halo TV series has recast Cortana bringing in Jen Taylor. As most of you most likely already know Jen Taylor voiced Cortana in the Halo series of games on the Xbox.
Cortana was supposed to be played by Natasha McElhone, who was also playing the role of Dr. Catherine Halsey. But due to scheduling difficulties from COVID-19 McElhone will continue to play Dr. Halsey but she will no longer play Cortana as well. Dr. Halsey is the creator of Cortana so it kinda made sense why they would have just the one actress.
As of the writing of this it is unclear as to whether or not Jen Taylor will play the role in-person or will she be a CGI.
Halo the TV series is an up-coming live action science fiction series based on the Halo video game franchise. The series will focus on the 26th-century war between the United Nations Space Command and the alien Covenant. The show is scheduled to premiere on Showtime in the first quarter of 2021.
